PRODUCTION DIRECTOR

Type: Full-Time, Salaried

Responsibilities: 

The Production Director is a full-time staff role responsible for leading, developing, and executing all aspects of production at Redemption City Church (RCC) across Sunday gatherings and broader ministry life. This individual leads the strategy and execution of audio, video/livestream, lighting, set design, and presentation systems, ensuring high-quality, distraction-free worship and event experiences. The Production Director builds and disciples serving teams, oversees equipment maintenance and upgrades, and works collaboratively across ministries to support the technical vision of RCC.

RCC Staff and Leadership Support

  1. Communicate effectively with media serve teams, staff, and the congregation

  2. Work with a coach to regularly set, monitor, and achieve ministry goals aligned with RCC’s broader vision

  3. Pray for RCC, staff, serve teams, and members

  4. Maintain a healthy work/life balance in agreement with a pastoral coach, engaging in personal and professional development

  5. Engage fully in RCC’s covenant membership alongside their family

  6. Participate in staff meetings, coaching sessions, and annual staff retreats, among other rhythms

Production Director Essential Functions

  1. Oversee a team responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing technical systems that support worship services, rehearsals, and special programs 

  2. Participate in all meetings related to weekly services and special programs

  3. Create and execute gathering/event plan documents: i.e. stage plots, audio patch sheets, etc. 

  4. Ensure all production elements are set and operational: 

    • Audio: all microphones, instrument interfaces, IEM’s, audio console 

    • Stage: decking, soS goods, music stands, set design, 

    • Lights: Stage lights, floor lights, special lights as needed

    • Slides/Presentation: worship lyrics, announcements, sermon notes, gathering text accessibility for vision-impaired congregants

    • Video/Broadcast: cameras, switcher, projectors, recording equipment, uploading of the podcast and YouTube recording of the sermon

  5. Execute repair needs and/or areas for improvement for production equipment

  6. Ensure the physical security of production equipment 

  7. Ensure that stage area and auditorium space is left clean with all equipment put away at the end of each event

  8. Schedule and transition responsibilities to assigned backup in the event of a scheduled absence 

  9. Lead, develop, and establish a weekend serving production team 

    • Support a culture of grace-based, discipleship-oriented serve team member development

    • Align the direction, mission, and goals of the media teams with RCC’s vision and values

    • Create team meetings, trainings, or workshops to continue developing each position

    • Onboard and develop new serve team members to fulfill their roles with excellence and joy in collaboration with the Director of Worship

    • Support a culture of grace-based, discipleship-oriented team development

    • Recruit, mentor, and engage serve team members to assist with production needs 

    • Maintain serve team member schedule in Planning Center Online (PCO) 

    • Lead serve team members in prayer before each event

  10. Utilize the Creative Team to share the greater RCC vision with visitors and congregants 

    • Develop the Creative Team serving members to capture the beauty of the Sunday gathering in addition to other RCC events

    • Collaborate with the Executive Administrator to share creative elements captured from the livestream for RCC communication purposes (newsletters, promotional materials, social media content, etc.)

  11. Manage all production equipment, engineering, and supplies 

    • Work with AV Team to familiarize yourself with all equipment including learning to troubleshoot and repair equipment

    • Work with Director of Worship and the Elder Team to determine future growth and production-related needs

    • Develop and execute goals set forth by Director of Worship to meet production-related needs  

  12. Provide technical support for Family Meetings and other special events, including non-Sunday gatherings

    • Provide technical assistance or schedule serve team members to fulfill productions needs

      Adapt availability and responsibilities based on the nature and schedule of events

Special Events

  1. Provide (or schedule) technical support for Family Meetings and other special events, including non-Sunday gatherings

  2. Adapt availability and responsibilities based on the nature and schedule of events

  3. Coordinate with external service coordinators to determine needs and execute technical requirements of the RCC space

Qualifications and Experience 

  1. Mature and growing Christian committed to living a life above reproach that honors God

  2. Committed to discipleship and the Great Commission  

  3. Communicative, Organized, Reliable, and Committed to excellence

  4. Self-starter with a Christ-like attitude who exemplifies RCC’s culture and embodies RCC’s values

  5. Agreement with the RCC vision, mission, and beliefs, and desires to complete the membership process of Redemption City Church (if not currently a Covenant Member)

  6. 4+ or more years of experience in live or theatrical production with proven leadership 

  7. 2+ years of church experience required, serving on a Media/AV/Production team

  8. Preferred music-worship leading experience

  9. Preferred familiarity with:

    • Resi and/or SubSplash for livestream and video management

    • Proclaim (or similar) presentation software for slides and visuals

    • Behringer X32 soundboard or equivalent digital mixing console

Compensation

  • This is an exempt position.

  • Compensation is commensurate with experience and responsibility.
