TECHNICAL COORDINATOR

Type: Part-Time, Hourly (10-15 hours per week)

Responsibilities: 

The Technical Coordinator is a part-time role responsible for executing all technical aspects of Sunday worship gatherings and select events at Redemption City Church (RCC). This person will directly support and coordinate audio, livestream/video, slides, and basic lighting operations. The Technical Coordinator is primarily focused on Sunday readiness and team oversight, working closely with the Director of Worship to ensure excellent, distraction-free worship experiences.

RCC Staff and Leadership Support

  1. Communicate effectively with media serve teams, staff, and the congregation

  2. Work with a coach to regularly set, monitor, and achieve ministry goals aligned with RCC’s broader vision

  3. Pray for RCC, staff, serve teams, and members

  4. Maintain a healthy work/life balance in agreement with a pastoral coach, engaging in personal and professional development

  5. Engage fully in RCC’s covenant membership alongside their family

  6. Participate in staff meetings, coaching sessions, and annual staff retreats, among other rhythms

Technical Coordinator Essential Functions

  1. Oversee a team responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing technical systems that support worship services, rehearsals, and special programs 

    • Participate in all meetings related to weekly services and special programs

    • Create and execute gathering/event plan documents: i.e. stage plots, audio patch sheets, etc. 

    • Ensure all production elements are set and operational: 

      • Audio: all microphones, instrument interfaces, IEM’s, audio console 

      • Stage: decking, soS goods, music stands, set design, 

      • Lights: Stage lights, floor lights, special lights as needed

      • Slides/Presentation: worship lyrics, announcements, sermon notes

      • Video/Broadcast: cameras, switcher, projectors, recording equipment, uploading of the podcast, and YouTube recording of the sermon

    • Execute repair needs and/or areas for improvement for production equipment

    • Ensure the physical security of production equipment 

    • Ensure that stage area and auditorium space are left clean with all equipment put away at the end of each event

    • Schedule and transition responsibilities to assigned backup in the event of a scheduled absence 

  2. Lead, develop, and establish a weekend serving production team 

    • Support a culture of grace-based, discipleship-oriented serve team member development

    • Align the direction, mission, and goals of the media teams with RCC’s vision and values

    • Recruit, mentor, and engage serve team members to assist with production needs 

    • Maintain serve team member schedule in Planning Center Online (PCO) 

    • Lead serve team members in prayer before each event

  3. Manage all production equipment, engineering, and supplies 

    • Work with AV Team to familiarize yourself with all equipment including learning to troubleshoot and repair equipment

    • Work with Director of Worship and the Elder Team to determine future growth and production-related needs

    • Develop and execute goals set forth by Director of Worship to meet production-related needs  

  4. Provide technical support for Family Meetings and other special events, including non-Sunday gatherings

    • Provide technical assistance or schedule serve team members to fulfill production needs

    • Adapt availability and responsibilities based on the nature and schedule of events

Qualifications and Experience

  3. Communicative, Organized, Reliable, and Committed to excellence

  4. Self-starter with a Christ-like attitude who exemplifies RCC’s culture and embodies RCC’s values

  5. Agreement with the RCC vision, mission, and beliefs, and desires to complete the membership process of Redemption City Church (if not currently a Covenant Member)

  6. 2+ or more years of experience in live or theatrical production with proven leadership 

  7. Prior church experience required, serving on a Media/AV team

  8. Preferred music-worship leading experience

  9. Preferred familiarity with:

    • Resi and/or SubSplash for livestream and video management

    • Proclaim (or similar) presentation software for slides and visuals

    • Behringer X32 soundboard or equivalent digital mixing console

Compensation

  • This is a non-exempt position.

  • Compensation is commensurate with experience and responsibility.
